Although HTC only disclosed 448MB of RAM on HTC HD2, but it actually has 576MB of RAM which is unlocked by powerusers over at XDA. With this extra ram, performance of the device can be increased further. User g.lewarne has posted a few tips to increase the performance of HD2.

These tips are meant to run HTC Sense more smoother, improves album art scrolling in landscape mode, much smoother font rendering. Also the ever lagging opening of the Windows folder is shortened to only half a second.

HTC HD2 is a great devices full of features but it does have its share of shortcomings, HTC have been releasing hotfixes for major issues but after HTC has announced that there’ll not be any more camera updates by them, one shortcoming is still there to be patched i.e. Camera taking extreme bright, high contrast pictures of the subject. Users of the device have been contacting HTC about it but they are replied with various responses. One of them is:

HTC have been releasing Hotfixes for HTC HD2 like it was an unfinished product. According to the sources at Digitimes, Microsoft is set to launch Windows Mobile 6.6 (codename Maldives) sometime in February of this year. If this rumor regarding Windows Mobile 6.6 turns out to be true, then we could see it debut as early as next month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
